WH-Words

some useful words for asking questions

In Sindarin MA-Words might be a better title for them, because they are based on the ancient root MA.

Here are some suggestions for common prepositions to combine with man.

EnglishSindarinContracted Form
to/for whom/what (why?)am manamman
in where (where?)mi vanmivan
at/to when/where (where?/when?)na vannavan
from where (whence?)o manoman
during when (when?)ne vannevan
with what (how?)na mannaman

Another way to get more interrogatives is to use the interrogative adjective man.

If the interrogative pronouns is with a preposition, I topicalize it and pull the prepositional phrase to the beginning of the sentence. I treat it as a normal pronoun, except that when it's the direct object, I put it into the vocative case so that it isn't mutated.

In these examples, I've included the answers to the questions so you can see how they'd fit together.
