In Sindarin MA-Words might be a better title for them, because they are based on the ancient root MA.
Here are some suggestions for common prepositions to combine with man.
| English | Sindarin | Contracted Form |
|---|---|---|
| to/for whom/what (why?) | am man | amman |
| in where (where?) | mi van | mivan |
| at/to when/where (where?/when?) | na van | navan |
| from where (whence?) | o man | oman |
| during when (when?) | ne van | nevan |
| with what (how?) | na man | naman |
Another way to get more interrogatives is to use the interrogative adjective man.
If the interrogative pronouns is with a preposition, I topicalize it and pull the prepositional phrase to the beginning of the sentence. I treat it as a normal pronoun, except that when it's the direct object, I put it into the vocative case so that it isn't mutated.
In these examples, I've included the answers to the questions so you can see how they'd fit together.
