ᴹQ. kapsa n. “case, vessel, *container”

A word in the Declension of Nouns (DN) from the early 1930s glossed “case, vessel” (PE21/20). It appeared in both a short form kas (kaps-) and longer kapsa (PE21/27). It might be derived from ᴹ√KAB “hollow” as suggested by Raccoon in a Discord chat from 2022. If so, its general meaning might be “*container”.

ᴱQ. kolka n. “box”

A word appearing as ᴱQ. KOLKA “a box” in the Qenya Lexicon of the 1910s (QL/47).

Neo-Quenya: I would retain ᴺQ. colca “box” for purposes of Neo-Quenya, perhaps as a derivative of √KOL “bear”.

ᴱQ. poko n. “bag”

A word appearing as ᴱQ. poko “bag” in the Qenya Lexicon of the 1910s under the early root ᴱ√POKO “tuck (-away)” (QL/75).

Neo-Quenya: I would retain ᴺQ. poco “bag” for purposes of Neo-Quenya.

ᴱN. cón n. “box”

The Gnomish Lexicon of the 1910s has G. colc “chest, box” (GL/26), clearly a cognate to ᴱQ. KOLKA “a box” from the contemporaneous Qenya Lexicon (QL/47). Early Noldorin Word-lists of the 1920s instead has ᴱN. cón {“fierce” >>} “box” (PE13/140).

Neo-Sindarin: For purposes of Neo-Sindarin, I would adapted the Gnomish word as ᴺS. colch “box, chest” for better compatibility with ᴺQ. colca “box”.
